CEC does accept purchase orders. Any purchase order processed and invoiced based on the BEST RATES must be paid in full by the BEST RATE registration deadline, July 31, 2019. A rate increase will apply on purchase orders billed at BEST RATE option that are not paid by July 31, 2019.

All invoices for convention registration generated on or after November 30, 2019 will need to be paid in full by January 1, 2020.

Registrations paid or promised by check, credit card, or purchase order are subject to the following:

Before December 1, 2019: Cancellations will be accepted in writing- either emailed to service@cec.sped.org or mailed to PO Box 79026, Baltimore MD 21270-0024, no later than December 1, 2019. A $50 Cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunds.

After December 1, 2019: Cancellations will be accepted in writing until 1/1/2020. A $100 cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunds.

After January 1, 2020: No cancellations will be accepted or refunded after 1/1/2020.

Substitutions are always accepted. Email service@cec.sped.org. Transfers from students to non-students, and members to non-members may have an additional fee.

Workshop Cancellations: Convention workshop are non-refundable, regardless of form of payment. Substitutions will be accepted. Email substitutions to service@cec.sped.org

Lunch Express: Lunch express orders are not refundable after 1/1/2020. Substitutions will be accepted.

Member Pricing: In order to receive CEC Member Pricing, the attendee must be an active CEC member at the time of registration. Basic, Full, and Premier members all get the same price. To join at the same time as registration, fill out the membership application at cecconvention.org and return with payment.

In most cases, there is no additional registration fee. If you are exhibiting at the convention, please refer to the registration and policy information on the expo site.

No, CEC does not offer group rates.

Volunteer opportunities are available to individuals who live or work in the host state of Oregon who are willing and able to commit to 8, 6, 4, or 2 hours of work during the week of convention. Volunteers receive up to a 40% discount off the advance rates according to the number of volunteer hours worked. Volunteer opportunities will open to all interested individuals on October 1, 2019.

Individuals who live or work in the host state of Oregon have the first opportunity to sign up for volunteer time. After September 30, 2019 the site will open to all who are interested in volunteering.

Certificates are available for documentation of professional development hours.

Yes. A $35 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

Rules and Conditions

All attendees of Council of Exceptional Children’s (CEC) events agree to comply with all rules and conditions of the event, including all rules published at www.cec.sped.org and related event websites and brochures. Attendees of any CEC activity must wear the official event name badge to gain access to professional sessions, general sessions, workshops, and the Expo are closely monitored to prevent unauthorized persons from participating in the CEC event. CEC event registration may not be used for advertising, promotions, giveaways, sweepstakes, or other trade purposes without express written consent of CEC.

Attendees must behave responsibly at all CEC events. Threatening physical actions and disorderly or disruptive conduct will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event, denial of access to event facilities and other penalties. CEC event attendees voluntarily assume all risk and danger of personal injury (including death) and all hazards arising from, or related in any way to the event, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the event, however caused and whether by negligence and/or otherwise. Rules and conditions are subject to change without notice.

Attendees may not under any circumstances conduct any live or recorded audio, video or photographic activities without the express permission of the Executive Director or Director of Membership, Marketing, and Communications.
