The CEC-ISET Technology Playground is an immersive hands-on experience where you can interact with vendors, educators, and students who will share current assistive and instructional technology that can support your students. Tech Playground will be located inside the Expo Hall and open to all attendees Wednesday, March 13 - Friday, March 15.

You can earn up to one (1) Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for spending time in the Playground.

Happening in the Tech Playground

Have questions about AI? Curious how to use it in your specific setting? Want to see AI in action? The Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL) will be hosting an “Ask the AI Expert” booth, an opportunity to talk with experts personally, at the following days and times:

The Educator Share Fair is led by selected educators who will share how they use technology in their educational setting and the benefits for students with disabilities. This will be a share-fair experience where you can stop by the table and see examples of how technology is actually being implemented with the opportunity to talk with the educators personally.

We're looking for presenters! Are you interested in providing a Make n’ Take in the Tech Playground? Click here to serve as a presenter for this year’s Make n' Takes. This will be a first-come, first-serve experience with materials for 12 participants.

Overview:

  • Length: 60 minutes in the Tech Playground which is in the Exhibit Hall
  • Days: Thursday, March 14 or Friday, March 15
  • What to expect:
    • $100 will be provided as reimbursement to cover the cost of materials.
    • You will be provided a presenter badge for the Tech Playground
    • You will be provided a table for attendees to participate
    • You will be provided a TV monitor to display examples, if needed
    • Your topic will be advertised in the CEC app and on the website
    • Your topic will show up on the schedule right outside the Tech Playground

These Research-to-Practice sessions are led by the experts in the field of assistive and instructional research and development. The experts will demonstrate their innovative technology tools as well as share tips for technology implementation with brief references to how the research has informed the technology design process. See examples of new technology tools developed with the input from the users. An opportunity to talk with the developers personally is a unique part of this experience.

The Technology Blitzes, presented by members of the Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL) and community members, will explore how to use specific technologies within the educational setting. These 10-minute blitzes will focus on technology tools and tips that you can implement in your classrooms tomorrow. These will be short presentations with step-by-step explanations and experiences where you'll discover examples of how technology is implemented.

The Vendor Sandbox is an opportunity to see a product in a 30-minute detailed session led by vendors in the field of assistive and instructional technology.
