CEC 2024 for First Time Attendees

There’s a lot to do at CEC 2024 and if it’s your first time attending, don’t worry—we’re here to help! Here are some suggestions on what not to miss, how to plan your time, and how to make the most of your experience.

Sessions for First Time Attendees

The Whova app allows you to search by topic to find sessions that interest you. You can also search by special audience to find sessions identified by the Program Advisory Committee to be of interest; filter by instructional level to find introductory sessions; or search by author to locate presentations by faculty whom you know.

Welcome Pavilion

Visit the Welcome Pavilion to meet with some of our awesome volunteers who are here to help send you to the right places. 

The Expo Hall

Visit exhibitors offering products and services designed to help you. Stop by the CEC Hub to get your questions answered or shop the CEC Store for new resources and gear. Stop by membership to learn more about resources and tools available for you.

Social Events

A number of networking and social events allow time to meet up with friends and fellow colleagues as well as to make connections with special education professionals. From the Expo Hall to Divisions Around the World, there are plenty of opportunities for fun while at the CEC Convention. Remember add a ticket to our CEC Celebration on Friday night for an evening of food, drinks, and fun.

Follow @CEC_Headquarters on Instagram to connect with professionals and fellow students, receive Convention updates, and learn about other social media activities taking place during the Convention. Use the hashtags to connect with other attendees during the event. Tag your posts with the hashtags #CEC2024 to connect with the special education community.
