What is Inclusive Leadership?
Inclusive principals create strong school cultures and distribute leadership across staff to serve all learners well and ensure all students feel safe, supported, and valued in school. In promoting equity for “all,” inclusive principals must respond effectively to the potential and needs of each student. Inclusive principals ensure high expectations and appropriate supports so that each student—across race, gender, ethnicity, language, disability, sexual orientation, family background, and/or family income—can excel in school.
- Council of Chief State School Officers, 2020
New for 2024, our 2024 Presidential Strand, "Inclusive Leadership at the Building Level," features sessions just for building leaders. Kicking off this strand and our convention on Wednesday, March 13 is Keynote Speaker Curtis Hill who will get us motivated to develop our own "Culture of Belonging & Inclusion."
Thanks to our Strand sponsor, School Outfitters.
Support for Staff
Send everyone to CEC 2024 for a whole-team approach to improving practice and outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
There are over 300 sessions and workshops developed specifically for special educators to get the most current research, effective strategies, and active learning opportunities to improve their practice. And there’s not just content for special educators at the Convention, because supporting students with special education services takes a team. Nearly 20% of our sessions are focused on practices all educators in the building need on topics like collaboration and inclusive practices, family and school partnerships, behavior management, and multi-tiered systems of supports.
Groups of 5+ save on registration! And did you know that paraeducators can attend the convention for free?!
